Conference
The CEC's leadership continues to explore the potential for a regional entrepreneurial
conference in the 2005-2006 time frame. Current efforts focus on partnering with
other business development and entrepreneurial support organizations to create
a two-day event with statewide draw. If you have ideas about such a conference,

Opportunity 2004, the CEC's conference on March 29-30, 2004,
drew almost 200 entrepreneurs, investors, and service providers to the Holiday
Inn SunSpree Resort at Wrightsville Beach. Participants heard from nationally
recognized speakers, including Guy Kawasaki, Bob Graham, Dennis Gillings, and
Andy White. Topics ranged from "The Art of the Start" to "The
Impact of Globalization on Venture-Backed Technology Companies" to "Sailing
Uncharted Waters: My Life on the Start-Up Waves."
